Staff Team

Dr. Rob Malcolm

Co-Director | Rob grew up in a small coal mining town in southwest Scotland, officially known as ‘one of Britain’s toughest towns’. He attended the University of Aberdeen where he received his B.S. in Physical Geography and a PhD in Geosciences. Rob was a Research Fellow and then a University Professor in Hydrological Science. Subsequently he attended Regent University where he obtained his M.A. in Practical Theology. He’s been in ministry for 20 years, 10 of those with Chi Alpha — which God called him into through a dream.

Rob is honored to have the privilege of sharing the good news that Jesus can change everything with the future world changers of Yale and thinks he works with the greatest team. You’ll find Rob in one of two places in his free time: making things with wood in his garage or working in his yard.

Rev. Sarah Malcolm

Co-Director, CMIT Director | Sarah grew up mostly in the midwest, mainly Nebraska and Missouri. She graduated from Missouri State University where she received a B.A. in Religious Studies and received her M.A. in Practical Theology from AGTS. She is currently a DMin student at Talbot School of Theology. Sarah’s life was forever changed after a student in Chi Alpha pursued her during her freshman year at MSU, and she’s been a minister in Chi Alpha for over 20 years at MSU, Aberdeen University, and Yale.

Sarah enjoys the constant hilarious fun of being with college students, their dedication to God, sincere questions, and love of each other. Most of all, she loves watching God transform their lives! In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Stevens DeJesus

Associate Staff | Stevens was born in Camden, New Jersey (the area of NJ that doesn't have the accent). He graduated from Rowan University with a B.A. in Writing Arts in 2016. After graduating, Stevens felt called to campus ministry and completed his internship with Chi Alpha at the University of Virginia in 2017. After finishing his internship God led him to move to New Haven with his wife, Jenna, and join the staff at Yale Chi Alpha.

After graduation, Jenna taught 2nd grade in New Haven with Teach for America before completing the Yale Chi Alpha CMIT Program in 2020 and joining the staff team.

Jenny Groff

Associate Staff | Jenny was born in South Korea but grew up just outside of Washington DC. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2016 with a degree in Public Policy and Foreign Affairs. Chi Alpha was easily the best part of her undergraduate experience. As a result, Jenny completed the Chi Alpha Internship in 2017 at UVA and served on staff there before joining the Yale Chi Alpha staff team in 2019. She and her husband, Ben, met as students at UVA and are the result of what God can do through Chi Alpha.

Jenny loves seeing Jesus redeem lives and watching students experience the joy of following Him! You can find Jenny reading a good book in a coffeeshop or petting the many dogs of New Haven.
